Abstract
The obligation to defend Islamic lands is one of the essentials of Islamic jurisprudence, and Shia and Sunni jurists have addressed it in their jurisprudential works on the topic of Jihad. But in some cases, considering that the Islamic lands and the independence of the Muslims have been exposed to the attack of the enemies, the jurists have dealt with it according to the conditions of the time and have left treatises, statements and fatwas. Today, the arrogant people of the world are afraid of the Islamic awakening and the dominance of Muslim nations over their destiny, and they are extremely afraid of their unity and disunity, and they are determined to prevent the re-emergence of Islamic civilization at any cost. The new world conditions require that Muslims, especially the young generation, become more familiar with the many capacities that exist in their school and religious culture and with their proud background and defend their dignity and independence. Among the various issues that are significant in this field, the defense of Islamic lands has a special place. Although its obligation is one of the essential issues of Islam and there is no doubt about it, it is important to be familiar with the importance and value of defense on the one hand, its rulings and issues on the other hand, as well as the record of Muslims in this field in the current situation.
